Winter Lies
Winter lies - harsh as the north winds
that pull all the heat off your skin
I prefer them to summer truths - the proof
that we are enemies once again
no longer needing to tip toe
The egg shells are crushed
and we can run freely - roughshod
without fear of burning bridges
There is no returning from here
Stephen King said, "Only enemies speak the truth; friends and lovers lie endlessly, caught in the web of duty." It's so true. Anyways, that was the inspiration for today's piece. Peace out.
